West Park Primary School History Project

When Mike was at the school back in 1968, it became the focus of national, and international, media attention, as controversial MP Enoch Powell described classes at the school as having only one white child in them.

This cross-generational project will ultimately be a celebration of the diverse neighbourhood of Whitmore Reans which has nourished the school for over half a century and continues to provide abundant and valued learning opportunities for the whole school community. After much discussion, it was decided to call the project 'West Park Welcomes the World.'
