"We are learning about the history of our school. This is our 50th anniversary. We have learnt many different facts and seen many different pictures of our old school at City Archives. We have learnt what Sanctuary means and what asylum seekers are. " Ola

"It was very interesting to meet an asylum seeker and hear about their life and lifestyle." Zeeshan Z

"We have met the founder of the City of Sanctuary Movement, Reverend Dr Inderjit Bhogal. We have also interviewed ex-pupils and ex teachers." Zaynab

"When Dr Bhogal came, I learned two new words: refugee and Sanctuary." Wisdom

"Mr Bhogal told us that he walked all the way from Sheffield to London to give the Prime Minister a letter. It took him a month. The letter was about how angry he was that people from different counties are treated unfairly when they arrive here. He told the Prime Minister that he tried his best to make people feel welcomed into this country. He helped to make Sheffield the first City of Sanctuary." Blossom

"Dr Bhogal told us a proverb: It is in the shelter of each other that the people live." Zeeshan Ali

"We have now met Mary who is a musician and we sang a song all about our Jubilee year as a school. It was really fun. And we have met Purvin who makes puppets and Dawn who makes green screen films." Sama

"So far the project has been a blast. I have learnt so much about the history of our school. What an experience it has been for us. I hope we carry on like this." Eesha
